John S. Almeida
John grew up in Mountain View California, attended St. Nicholas Catholic School, and graduated from Mountain View High School. He then moved to Chico, California and attended Butte College. At Butte College, he graduated with an associate’s degree in Mobile Intensive Care Unit: Paramedic, and Liberal Arts.
John worked in the Intensive Care Unit at Chico Community Hospital as a cardiac monitor technician before getting hired with Mono County Emergency Medical Services as a paramedic in 1996. In 1997 John was hired as a flight Paramedic with Sierra Lifeflight and became the training officer and Clinical Education Director in 2002. John then continued with Sierra Lifeflight until 2015.
During this time, John attended and graduated from the International School for Tactical Medicine, and then began working with the local SWAT team. As a tactical paramedic, he earned full team member status in 2017. Currently, John is still employed with Mono County Emergency Medical Services, is a CPR/First aid instructor, and very active with the local SWAT team.
John resides in Bishop California, with his wife Christine and children, Chloe (who will be attending Washington State University) and Joseph, who attends Bishop Christian School
